In March a party organized by Joan and Warren Withers of the BCSS Coventry Branch left Rugby for Hull and the overnight ferry to Rotterdam with the intention of visiting cacti and succulent nurseries in Holland and Germany.
On the first day we visited the nurseries of Kees de Wolf in Zwijndrecht and Ulrike Gross in Gelsenkirken. The next day we went first to the nursery of Katze in Wankum, then on to Ernst Specks in Erkelenz and from there to Ingo Breuer in Heinsberg. On the last day we visited Jan Biesheuvel in Lexmond, Aad Vijverberg and Cok Grootscholten in Honselersdijk and lastly, Paul and Mary Hoogvliet whose nursery is fairly close to the docks and the return ferry.
